Hello Walmart drivers. I have a phone interview tomorrow and I was wondering if you drivers could give me some ideas on what I should expect. Are they just going to go over my experience, history etc. or are they going to ask me questions about driving etc. ? Thanks for your time drivers!
They will go over the information on your application. They will ask what made you choose that company? What would you do in a certain situation? And they will go over some things about the company and what to expect. And if you re still interested in the company, they will set you up for orientation. And please don t be afraid to ask them questions either
Great, thank you for the information. Everything on my application is truthful so I'm assuming everything should be OK then. I just want to make sure Im prepared and have the best chance to get hired.
Usually if you get a phone interview, you re pretty much good to go. Most of the time if they are not, they will tell you up front, no we cannot help you instead of leading you own with false intentions
I was asked 6 driving questions, they went over my info on job history, and a little on the comapany. Then if that goes well they will have HR call you to set up pre trip and road test.
All I really remember is what was 3 things that would cause a jack knife, how far should you follow a vehicle pretty much common sence questions
Depends on the company, however they tend to make you feel like you're getting a "good deal".Ask all your questions upfront, dont fall for the smoke and mirrors.Ill ask em straight out "do you have forced dispatch, can i bring my dog with me,carry a gun? How much is the detention pay?In other words dont be so happy and clouded that youre getting a job, that you dont ask all your questions about pay and company policy.Usually their job is to just get you in a truck.Sounds good...Just be sure what youre getting in to.Congrats and good luck.
In all due respect, that is not how Walmart operates. You are talking about getting a "normal" truck driving job. The process for the Private Fleet is very different. You are not just a number, you are a person. WM is all about safety and have the best safety score in the industry. Thus, they want to make sure that the folks that they consider are as safety minded as they are. Also, this is just the phone interview. This does not mean you get the job. If you pass the phone interview, you will then be scheduled for a pre-trip and driving test. They require a very thorough pre-trip, and if you don't pass that, you do not do the driving test. Walmarts compensation package is totally different than any other companies. They are one of the premier jobs in the industry and treat their drivers like gold and with respect. As such, they expect very professional drivers who will present themselves in the high standards that a fleet of their rank should have. No forced dispatch, you will not bring your dog, and you will not bring a gun. You can bring family members to ride with you. You will keep your truck clean. They will provide you uniforms that either you keep clean and neat, or they will clean them for you. You will earn $80K plus, and will pretty much be left alone as long as you do your job, do it safely, and do not lie. Lying is a huge issue for WM. You will always get a minimum of 1.5 days off a week (only that low when extending your week to full HOS), but will normally have 2-2.5 days. You will get a lot of paid time off at full ADP (Average Daily Pay) and you will never drive over HOS............. ever. You will even get paid to sleep in your truck.
Tell your husband to start refusing loads because " I don't like that store" or " the weathers not good" and see how long he lasts. If the load needs to go, he's taking it. That's forced dispatch. That's the way we work.
