They charge us with an accident for taking down a wire. One time when doing beer though I saw one that was like 8 feet off the ground (It was way low hanging totally against code) and in the middle of the street I just drove through it and took it down, didn't even care.

I haven't pulled one down (yet) but have had them drag on top of my trailer. Once I was out in the country and making a turn. All of a sudden I hear a noise, kind of like a boing sound. Stopped and got out to look around, didn't see anything except a wire that was probably just a hair too low. I suspect that I hit it and it got caught and let go before coming down, like a guitar string.

Hotel parking lots unfortunately are a different animal.
The maintenance crew had it back up in 10 minutes, but that will still cost me 700 bucks.rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
I did a phone line once over 20 years ago. Found a payphone as quickly as I could, called my TM and told him what happened. He laughed and told me to get my butt back in the truck.

I won't crap on her choice, but I hope she's ready for the new realities she'll inevitably have to face. -
About 7 years or so ago north east of Jackson ga. Bad snow storm and didn't see it till i was almost in it at about 45mph. It was so low it hit the windshield and hooked under the visor. As big around as my wrist so assuming power line. Obviously i was on the brakes as hard as i dared to with the crap road conditions but it stopped whipping across the truck before i got stopped. Guessing 200 ft or so. Amazingly enough there was no damage so i got back in the truck and went on down the road, after checking my shorts of course.
Crude Truckin' and TROOPER to TRUCKER Thank this. -
Power lines are always at the top of the pole, and three separate wires. Yours was either cable or telephone.
