Driver Wanted:
I am a freelance photojournalist homebased in Asheville, NC. I am working on an article for submission to Huffington Post about truckers and trucking.
I would like to find a trucker who will let me ride along with him for approximately two weeks getting his/her story along with photographs. I'd prefer to find a trucker who has been driving less than a year and became a trucker because of the slow economy we're in.
If you have an interesting story and wouldn't mind me riding along gathering information for the article, please email me right away.
You can see some of my work on my website, JourneyAmerica.org
Thanks
Jerry Nelson

Huffington Post?
Forget it. No way I'll support that Ultra-Liberal fish-wrap.
The name of that rag alone tells me you can't possibly have anything good to say about truckers. So no, way. -
Not likely to get a ride along with any company driver anyway. Most companies have a policy that any rider be a family member of the driver. Huffington post? Really?

Sounds interesting.Clueless about trucking doing a story about a trucker who hasn`t been driving long enough to know anything.
simplyred1962, truckerdave1970 and cherokee96red Thank this. -
No doubt.....if that isn't a recipe for a slaughter in the press I don't know what isDix_ and simplyred1962 Thank this.

Asheville, NC itself, is a Uber-Liberalistic city. I lived there for 15 years. Thank God conservatives were just down the highway in Hendersonville to balance it out. Good luck to the photojournalist finding a newbie to tag along with. I doubt it will be with the poor driver mentioned in another thread, who just got that $17,000 fine for taking "The Bridge On the River Revenue." Wow, that still hurts thinking about it!

What they said...The HP has proven it doesn't have a subjective bone in it's body...May as well said you're with the DOT!

Well, thanks and congratulation. You guys have just made decisions without any information whatsoever. Now, if there are any REAL truckers out there who aren't afraid to hide behind a conservative label, give me a shout.

Hell I'd rather give the DOT a ride along

Why in GOD'S name would the HP want to do a story on truck drivers....
Hmmm....Let's count the reasons why
1. to try and prove that drivers are not properly trained and dangerous
2. to try and prove that all truck drivers are on something and NOT driving according to the rules
3. to try and prove that drivers are the lowest form of life on the planet, are uneducated, filthy, and rude
I'm sure if I really wanted to list more reasons I could, but I think I made my point.........IF you the OP is honest about this and are not engaged in a SLANDEROUS story twisting the truths for your own PERVERTED ideals on journalism......contact one of the larger "training" companies out there and ask THEM for a ride along.
I have no patience for yellow journalists and their attack on civil liberties and the American way of life......if you the OP of this thread are not then I apologize, unfortunately we have been attacked too many times by the left wing and their SO CALLED safety groups for me to even give you the benefit of the doubt

I went to this guys website and I will say this, he has some interesting photos, but the annoying reminder box that continually pops up caused me to leave. You should consider getting rid of that.
Lilbit, rocknroll nik, simplyred1962 and 1 other person Thank this.
