Funny, I think that pack a day will take you down faster than missing out on some exercise here and there. Might want to work on the 'pack a day' first.

If they put weights in truck stops, all you would see is bench press contests. Nobody would get a real workout or any health benefit. It would just be a bunch of so-called "badasses" trying to prove how strong they are.
Southpaw7391 Thanks this. -
I agree it would start out like that. But, that would go away quick enough, a few benches and a rack of barbells would go a long way in my book.

exercise is key, sitting for long periods of time will get you DVT (where you get blood clots in your veins). as mentioned you can jump rope, do "lines" along your trailer, do prison cell workouts (youtube it) burpees, etc

I also am not a muscle freak but I enjoy staying healthy I cook and eat all my own food I allow myself one meal out a week and that's usually some mom and pop somewhere but I have established a workout that I do inside my truck takes about 45 min and it's just based of keeping my core strong and I also do about 100 push ups a day my biggest fear with becoming a driver was to get fat but I am doing great I think I eat healthier now then I have ever and feel good

Getting fat isn't my biggest fear. Biggest fear is heart disease from bad diet and lack of exercise. Excuses are just that, because you can always put on a pair of jogging shoes and go for a run around the parking lot, and stay away from the fast food, but I realize this requires an abnormal level of commitment to health and fitness. I used to be a 3-4 day a week guy at the gym when I had a desk job, and even I haven't found a way to work exercising regularly back into my routine as an OTR driver. The randomness of that existence just isn't conducive to it.

Well, the government loves to regulate, maybe we should ask for gyms at all truck stops?

I'm considering entering back into the industry and I've looked at a few of the Kettle Ball DVD programs. With my luck I would probably be exercising and have it slip out of my hands and into the glass or the side of the truck.
