Rates in the south sucks....most people who run in the south, run for revenue. I know an IC says he doesn't run above I40. everyone business plan is diffrent.

General rule I've seen is the further south you go the further south the rates go.
I'm determined to stay above $1.50 all miles running these crap areas, lets see if I can pull it off.
So far I am.. but once I get to MS all bets are off lol. -
Can someone answer a question for me. I am to start orientation on 17th of August, but the lady I am dealing with ask for my EIN number so I emailed it to her. She said she needed the SS4 and I told her it's just an application IRS don't keep that. So I got an 147c letter but she say it wouldn't work. She say other drivers have FAXED an SS4 to her. But why an I already had an EIN for a year now for this purpose. So my question is did anyone else have an EIN number already before coming to Schneider on choice if so what did you have to provide them (papers). Can't go to orientation until resolved
-
My own experience was I didn't have an EIN till I decided to become an IC thus created one and told it to Schneider verbally through an email and then approved.
That's all they needed if I recall, no papers.
At some point with Schneider I did have to fill out some tax form but I think that was after I was already approved and ready to go.Blackhawk driver Thanks this. -
I am attending orientation on the same date in Charlotte....and yes I was told the same. I did go back and look at my business papers and lo and behold I did have a copy of the letter from the IRS that assigned me my EIN. If you don't have it you'll have to call the IRS and have them fax you a copy.drvrtech77 and HeWhoMustNotBeNamed Thank this.

This lady is giving me the blues. I mean I understand but hey it's my number why do u need something different
-
I remember right before orientation Schneider emailed some tax something something I had to fill out and send back to them. It was no big deal though.
I didn't have to go through the IRS to get papers sent to them or anything like that. -
Have you got the phone call yet stating you need tanker endorsement due to the new laws regarding liquid totes in dry vans? Apparently this just came down and I just got off the phone with my recruiter. I was planning on getting it anyway but now I have to speed up the process
-
I have it just somewhere packed down in storage. Was trying not to go through those boxes. I did call IRS they don't keep copies of the letter they first send you they only give u a 147c and she won't accept it.FatDaddy Thanks this.

That must be a new requirement to join.
I don't have a tanker endorsement nor are they making me get one.
