Depends what you mean well enough is.
I'm certainly doing a lot better than being a company driver at Crete

So my truck is finally done, Eaton paid for everything and I got a brand new clutch.

So from Shartlesville, Pa I'm going to Carlisle to Morgantown, Wv then picking a light load nearby going to NC near Charlotte.

I wanted to go west not south and I hate West Virginia BUT lets see I'm 30 miles from allentown and 120 miles from NYC and I'm escaping the Northeast black hole for about $1.82 all miles between those loads sooooooo it's worth it.
My rate would have been over .20 higher if I went to the Kenworth in Carlisle instead of here but hopefully when I leave here my truck was put together correctly lol.
Time to make money.Farmerbob1, Dominick253 and T_TRUCKER. Thank this.

I booked a load out of Charlotte for Friday going to Ohio.
Drop and hook both ends, relay load, 10k pounds.. around 500 total miles at $1.65 all miles.
I know if I waited I could have gotten a better load rate wise BUT this is bring me within a couple miles from the P&G plant near Dayton, Ohio. Being the weekend is coming I didn't want to risk it.
If there's any place I'd want to be on a weekend for loads it's there and Chicago area comes second.
There's always soooo much freight coming out of there going in all directions plus I specifically know they always have a weekend load going 200 miles into Kentucky for around $3.50.
The plan is on Friday see where the best Monday morning loads are in the country and head in that direction from the P&G plant in Dayton as they really do have freight going everywhere always.
Oh and yeah never do I book Monday no later than late Friday afternoon.. after that all the good freight is gone and it's leftovers. Made that mistake a few times but I've learned from it.Last edited: Jun 4, 2015
