I have a 2016 Freightliner cascadia evolution from SFI and to be honest once you get an alignment and tires balanced you will not be disappointed. The truck is awesome and the mileage is really good. I drove a new T680 before I came to IC and while its a better looking rig that paccar motor....not for me. Go drive some at your local dealership all models. Second I would not become an IC if you dont have 10grand in reserves..

My experience with the cascadias is that although aesthetically they are pretty cheap, structurally the Detroit engine hasn't failed me at all. Compare that to the problems we've heard about the paccar power trains I'd take cheap "looking" over that any day.

And I do like your response. My thought being that I tend to be conservative in nature is to take small steps and make sure before taking a big step. Some people are risk takers that can be successful right away, most people that take big risks fail. That's all I'm trying to say

You should look into full service leasing. Sounds like something that would reassure you.

My Engine has treated me fine...
Yes a truck is for work but you also LIVE in your truck.
You spend hours everyday driving and spend more nights in a truck bed than your own bed.
I don't know about ya'll but I like to be comfortable in something and spend a LOT of time in... and now that I'm paying for. The difference between a KW and Shaker payments is barely nothing.
Not only that a KW holds it's value a lot better than a Freightliner.
There's 350,000 mile Shakers for sale for around $50,000 all over the place, you won't find a KW with that mileage for under $70,000.
I am happy with my truck and decision.

@CaptainDaveG In a perfect world having $10K would be great, but given what many have to start with, I just don't see most people being able to save it that much to make a change...

I'd rather have the inconvenience of this kind of happanstance when it occurs over the backups from the wrecks that would be sure to occur far far more often without them in place. Fog zone.

My point is you will have a learning curve in this IC game....the truck will break, while I have zero debt besides my truck I think about the truck all day everyday...every Monday we start a new payment cycle....if you dont have reserved money you will struggle....lets face it guys our rates are down...there is little candy out there now....
