The Texas market is such a fickle beast. Some weeks it's smoking hot on rates, others you're getting enough per mile to make phone call on a payphone if you could find one that is, lol. There is freight there, just you need to learn where is hiding and when it comes up on the board so you can be there to get it.

He's closer to Houston though and from the little i understand the Houston area vs Dallas area of Texas are like night and day.
    Correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't want this dude to be thinking he'll be making lots of money here and being home every weekend with where he lives.
    I just dont see it.
He'd probably earn more money as a company driver.

Say you do 2500 miles a week a $1.10 and are home every week.

That's $800 in fuel, $1100 in fixed costs.
    That leaves you with $850.

Which would be like being a company driver driving for $0.34 a mile, without the benefits and having to pay higher in Taxes.

Yeah I'm using $1.10 as an example because the very best single load all week for the lane you wanted to run paid that.
So those numbers are at the higher end at best.

In others words you'd earn more at CR England than here unless you were willing to change the way you'd be willing to run

That's why i bash all these cheap rate mileage flease carriers. You'd earn more as a company driver.
To lease and run your own truck to earn less than a company driver is simply retarded.

Yeah someone can do well at Schneider as an IC but if you live in a crap area and want to be home all the time you'll go broke.

Nothing against you it's just I wanted to confirm it myself because I'm sure just as you're aware of many drivers like to tell story tales...

Oh yes the big youtube recruiter lol.
Has he shown you all the crappy rates around where you live?
I just looked up that area and houston to Atlanta and told you what i see.

There has got to be some local, LTL or dedicated work around there.
Being an IC here is not the best opinion for what you're looking for.

As you as you understand rates suck around where you live then I'm good.
I just want to make sure you know the real story... not just what a recruiter or youtube star recruiter tells you lol
