FYI for anyone that has looked at Landstar for vans...I did the webinar yesterday afternoon and had a chance to see what rates looked like on their board. Within 100 miles of Scranton, PA, most of the rates I would say we're between 1.40-1.60/mi, with a few 2.00/mi scattered in, along with one that really caught my eye... .79/mi from NJ to OR lol. Keep in mind, these were the rates before Landstar's 35% cut, with no tolls or anything covered.
While it may be getting tougher there, the grass doesn't appear to be any greener at Landstar.
I know you can call and negotiate with the brokers over rates at LS, but with the current freight market, I can't see most being able to negotiate much higher rates, IMO

With all due respect, I guess now you have heard of it?

I really don't mean to be argumentative, but can I ask, what proof would you need to accept that someone can get a new truck with zero down? I mean, I told you that is what I have negotiated, I have the emails that show just that, another person just said that is what he was offered, and in a week and half I will have the signed agreement. Do you need more than that? Why is it such an issue man, obviously your KW is a different animal than a stripped Cascadia Evo so it's not apples to apples.

I guess I just don't see why it is so hard to believe or why it's such a big deal. Sorry again no offense to you.

    BoostedTeg and RStewart Thank this.

I don't want to wade into the middle of this. Is it possible that SNI has too many Casscadia's not being leased and they're offering a lower down payment to leasees meeting certain criteria?

    TennMan and RStewart Thank this.

Yes I have heard of it on a second lease.
When you successfully complete a lease Schneider from what I've heard is a little more flexible.
    On a first lease... no.

You would be the very first person on this fourm to get a brand new truck apu and all for on their first lease for zero down.
I have gone through these fourms and never seen it before or heard it even to be possible.
In fact Schneider recently raised down payment requirements across the board for trucks. So to hear somebody just got what you supposedly did just doesn't add up.
Maybe Schneider just changed the way they do things but it just doesn't make sense, they've been trying to make it more difficult for people to get in trucks.. not more easy.

Yeah I agree, I get it. I really just don't see why it is such a big deal and honestly it gets in the way of me trying to gather some current info which is my objective. Instead we have 3 pages of zero down or no zero down. Its cool though.

    RStewart Thanks this.

Well there's thousands of pages of Schneider IC info across multiple threads.
If what you're looking for isn't there what questions do u have?

Honestly, if I can negotiate that kind of deal, I may be very tempted to sign a 3 year.

On used trucks, yeah there's lots of them sitting around which again makes it more odd why they'd offer zero down on a new truck.
