Big rigged my whole life and bout to try hotshot. Im curious what would be the best length of gooseneck flatbed to go behind a 3500 dually. If i can stay under 40 foot and still put close to 20k on the trailer Id rather do that if it doesn't limit options to bad. And how much weight do I need to be able to load to keep my options good. What do you pros recommend? Thanks in advance and happy trails

Why are you interested in going from big rig to hotshot? The insurance requirements are similar, you still need a CDL, freight options are not nearly as lucrative? I had a friend that lost everything trying hotshot hauling. Blew 2 motors up in less than 3 years, and logged miles at an astronomical rate. For peanuts. He went to wrk for a fellow doing heavy haul, and after 3-4 years, he bought his own semi. Now he has 6 on the road. Obviously, I don’t know all your reasons for wanting to do hotshot, but my upfront opinion is, if you have experience, you can make substantially more driving for someone else.Bean Jr. and insanityeight Thank this.
