Pilot, Exit 63 I-85 South Carolina

I hit a mailbox at a shipper a month ago and they never said anything luckily. I was scared Id be charged with a hit and run or something but nothing happened. I wonder if they looked at the cameras.

 

Usually local police will not get involved when accidents happen on private property it is normally handled by the two partys involved, but if driver at fault resulting in property damage flees the scene Im sure the situation has now turned into a criminal act.

 

They never caught me for hitting the mailbox

 

I doubt they are real concerned as to hit their $15 mailbox. The right thing to do would have been to at least give them a phone call telling them. Who knows, they may have said don’t worry about it, its happened before. At least your conscience will be clean.

 

Yea I shouldve but I was new and I thought Id be fired on the spot. I didnt flatten it, just scraped it and kinda made it crooked in the ground

 

Well that’s not so bad, at least they can still use it. Even veteran drivers have their oops moments. It just happens from time to time. I’ve always tried to tell my boss when I screw up, sometimes they will smile because they have done it too. Others may yell for awhile. But at least I can sleep at night knowing I made it right. Its just part of life. If I was ever a boss, I would appreciate an employee that would admit it when they make a mistake. The important thing is to learn from your mistakes, it will make you a better employee/person too.
