Hmmm fuel at an Oklahoma independent for 2.15 a gal or fuel at the j or loves for 2.45 a gal so I get points lmao , I threw away my j and loves cards . Good deal for company drivers tho .
I've been using the Loves point for years already. Spent over a $1000 in points since they introduced the new system.
Since few drivers are directly compensated for fueling time, a decent points system helps take some of the nasty taste out. But 1 lousy penny per gallon is not decent given usual markups. But then again the truck stops should not be expected to "compensate" truck drivers' time fueling. So I guess I'll take whatever I can get.
There used to be a tiered point structure at Pilot/FJ as recently as last summer. I believe you fueled 1600g in the preceding month and earned platinum status. Platinum status was 2 points/gallon instead of 1 plus a $10/month bonus at your first fuel up of the month. I went away for a month last year and lost my platinum status and it's now gone. Seems they replaced it with Shower Power instead.
I'm glad they are. As big as pilot is man if they had that fuel system like LOVES, they'd be killing out there! Every month I've fueled over 1500 gallons so it'll be nothing to make diamond status.
I want points for store bought items and shower credits that don't expire because I am not a fueling customer. If I accumulate say $50 worth of store purchases isn't that worth a shower?
We fuel at Pilot or Loves. They get a bulk discount with both. I fuel at Loves for the points. Pilot gives the other three cents also, they just give it to the company. The Qualcom messages posted above; I don't see any increased points reward. I see the usual Pilot dance. You can get shower reservation, and real time fuel wait times, and blah blah. We'll give everything except points.
I used a Pilot's "enhanced" wifi last week and watched HD movies via my VUDU account. Only a few buffering hickups during 4 hrs. Internet was lightning fast. This is the first time I have seen the enhanced wifi offered and it does cost a little more than the basic version they still offer. I am considering purchasing an enhanced yearly pass if available.
