At this point in this dream, why no happy endings?
Works fine for me...mindes Thanks this. -
I can read the pics fine.
With that said, I suppose Sni wants to control where you park daily or even limit your miles even more.
It's still sad they don't care about a drivers comfort.mindes and Home_on_wheels Thank this. -
IDK, TennMan......it just seems like another corporate BS idea........tripping over dollars to save dimes.
we've done a pretty good job of finding places to park for some time, so what's the point??
Hey, here's an idea, let's run off half of the support staff and hook them up with FREE reserved parking (at a deeply discounted rate.......Pilot/Schneider/Pilot.....get the idea???).
It's all hooey......just another way of not paying people a fair wage for a fair day's work. It's just sadTennMan Thanks this. -
Man, think about it.......
Schneider says, "well we know XTZ carrier will pay you .35 a mile and we only pay .33 a mile, BUT, we are set up for FREE reserved parking!!!"
so, that .02 cents per mile on a 500 mile day works out to be $10......which is $2-3 less than Schneider is paying for the spot......IF the spot is available......if not, so sorry, better luck next time.
Pilot is selling this idea (and it's a pretty good one) to trucking companies. I predict that in less than 5 years 75% of the parking spots will be reserved.
I've already read where other companies are doing this.
Think about it, if the top 10 or 20 companies monopolized all of the parking spots at Pilot and TA (because sooner or later they'll get on board), what's gonna be left???gentleroger and mindes Thank this. -
ok, so this was a 3 week deal that ends friday. were you running critical freight for a customer? kinda a special deal?
or the alternative, drivers gettong burned on parking and forced tow to a safe legal place? $12 parking is better than a tow bill.Waggledaddy Thanks this. -
How can sni even plan where you'll be parking at??....they have no idea what delays you will encounter...smh
Waggledaddy and mindes Thank this. -
I have not been running any critical loads.
It could be something to do with drivers needing tows and trying to save money in the long run but a driver running out of time at a shipper or consignee is one thing but running out of hours heading down the road without any delays from traffic, weather, or equipment failures is poor planning.
Sni planning is poor. Sometimes it seemed as it was just a guess. Communication is key but i don't have all day to message back and forth to figure out a place that is hours away, when my crystal ball is in the shop and a hobo stole my 8 ball to know what i might encounter trying to get to that location.
If a driver pulls into a stop with minutes to spare and the only thing available is paid parking, or would be nice for sni to pick up the bill. Trying to push a driver to a pre planned spot goes against safety because new drivers are going to keep going even when tired without knowing any better.Waggledaddy Thanks this. -
I'd be cool with .02c less per mile if I could use reserved parking for free every day. BUT only if on days I didn't use it, I get my .02cpm back for the day.
Waggledaddy Thanks this.
