Thanks for the update "Olhand. I haven't been up there in awhile and no one else has said that it was taken down. They destroyed that truck stop.

 

Navypoppop, they actually tore the beautiful building down a few months ago. Boooo! What
a laugh Pilot Flying J is. They like bland, boxy buildings. With literal beige paint. And don't
forget Wendy's, Subway, and McDonald's. Jimmie Haslam Jr. likes McDonalds. He takes his
wife there for their anniversary every year!

 

If you are adventurous, that truckstop has a secluded pond out back where you can do some fishing undisturbed if you are so inclined and willing to walk through the woods.

So not all bad

It actually has multiple ponds, but the larger of the them is the one south of the truck parking area. When I went there, it was a little bit of a pain to get into the woods from the truck parking area (steep, and brushy), but once actually in the woods it was easy walking and nobody else was there due to the general laziness of people to venture into such places.

 

That's a Pilot Travel Center in general.

 

Just got here for the night, as it's the closest place to park near my delivery. They've done a good job at cleaning up the overall appearance, but it's still just a polished turd. Paid for my parking spot at noon today, and all reserved spots were full when I got here. So, ####it, I took a free spot.

 

I certainly hope you demanded a refund.

 

Not worth the hassle. The point of paid parking is to guarantee a spot. I got a spot, so I consider it fair trade. I'm actually closer to the building than some of the other reserved spots, too.

 

Oh, boy! What's for dinner?

 

I had their meatloaf, which is seeming like a terrible mistake right about now.

 

I've never had a problem with it... sorry to hear that.
