Pilots are poorly managed . Many of them leave showers uncleaned until somebody asks for one . I was at the Pilot on the East side of I-71 exit 28 this morning and went in for coffee at 5 a.m. . They have Dish network on the demo TV's and the TV in the Subway . The Dish was turned off and I asked if they could put the Weather Channel on . They said Dish is turned off at night and can't be turned on until the manager gets there at 7 a.m. . Pilots are Travel Centers not truckstops . Many of them are bus stops though . I hate to see a grey dog pulling in ahead of me .

teh bosselman's pilot in nebraska, I80 #312N was pretty nice. 16 diesel pumps, 22 showers, taco stand, subway, sit-down restaurant, cb shop, big store (10 bungees for $7.50 woohooo)
now the pilot in virginia, I81 #150, cross that one off your list. ten parking spots, ground is absolutely filthy, subway messed up both my sandwiches. ended up going down the road and sleeping in a rest area... now i see what a dangerous proposition that was...
i've adopted the practice of cutting the fillups a little short to build up some shower credits. it's nice when you really gotta go to run in, swipe the card, and get your own private, recently cleaned bathroom. -
Pilot wannabe truckstops on Steroids
What i don't understand is that they go in and buy other tk stops, tear out the real resturants, put in crap food.
OR
Go and buy another chain, Road Ranger comes to mind, yet won't spend a dime many of thier existing locations, and upgrade them, IE West Memephis across from Petro.
But being a company driver, have no choice other than to fuel at Pilots.
If at all possible i will fule and shower, but won;t spend any money there, and go find a J or a TA/ Petro to spend the night.
The Bossleman's Pilots are all good. No Pilot did not buy Bossleman's. The famliy still own and manage the properties. They took on the Pilot name in order to get discounts on the fuel from Pilot.
