A Pilot manager explained that to me . Pilot owns all the fast food restaurants in their locations except McD's . They have a lease arrangement with them .

i agree, everyone always said to eat right!, well, how can we?, ok, yeah, we can put a cooler/fridge microwave etc in the truck, but when you run outta food/money/time to make dinner, and its late at night, its always easier to walk in, order and eat, sleep right?
reading all the replys makes me wanna go buy land right across the street and put in lil mom-n-pop dinners, i think id make more $ then the mcds or subway or arbs or what ever junk they are serving at the truck stops.. or do i mean the travle centers, i stay at the mom-n-pop truck stops most of the time, cause its quite there, all the drivers are either sleeping, eating in the dinner/rest. or they are chatting outside, you dont ever hear the trash talk on the cb at the lil places. but when you park at the big chanins thats all you hear all night, i usually shut my radio off as soon as i park, or ill shut it off when im a few miles away.

Well I ahve three choices to fill up along my route, two pilots and a TA. I like the TA since they have faster pumps, but the pilots take points (my TA is a pain the rump as far as points).

So most of the time, I just drive by the first pilot and if its full (usually around 8am)....I just keep on driving as i can make it to the next one most of the time.
I basically try to make sure i fill up when its not going to be busy

I run out of KY and the only Pilots with decent fuel prices are the 2 at exit 6 on I-65 and the 2 at exit 175 on I-75/71 in Walton . The 2 in Walton are usually a hassle to get in and out of . For a while after the Love's opened at exit 55 on I-71 the 2 Pilots at exit 28 on I-71 lowered their prices to match Love's . Now they are back higher . No excuse for it .

i also think that Pilots are cleaner. specialy the the showers.
most of the TA's i come across are dirty places, crappy parking lots, and dirty dirty showers.
