LoL.... me too~!Whatever happened to Lester, anyway? Still around? Wife had me a job lined up with them back in the day, when we talked about moving to Florida to be near her dad and sister. We opted to stay in Ohio, and just visit on occasion, LoL. Things still looking good with J&R for ya?

As far as J&R Schugel goes ... I am assuming I am still good to go. I have not yet spoke with my recruiter this week, she is waiting around until I actually have my CDL and have successfully completed school before I am officially invited for the 4-6 week interview process ....

Yeah, I figure LCT was gone. Wonder who bought them? I need to keep up with FL news a bit better, LoL.
Well that's awesome that J&R is hanging in there for ya; they look like a real good place, I did a look see on Google the other day, nice equipment!
Keep on progressing, learning, and sponging all info you can, man. You seem to be real excited to do this; good for you! I'll check back tomorrow for your progress report, LoL!wfutch79 Thanks this. -
New day, new me.
So this morning started with me doing my Pre-Trip and started driving earlier than I ever have ... so I got a lot of practice in today. It started off very rough until Mary walked on the range and gave me a few tips ... everything fell right into place. I have always had a bad habit of holding my steer in to long when backing but her tips helped me overcome that and I hit conventional parallel, driver's side parallel, right and left offset but alley dock is still giving me trouble. I just hope I do not get alley dock on my test. We were told we would get straightline back, either right or left offset ( random ) and either parallel or alley dock. It is random what comes up but it will definately be three.
Anyway I got off track there with the test info. We practiced backing all morning until our break and then we went out on the city streets with Mary. We each drove for 30 minutes on various streets throughout St. Petersburg. She tried to trip me up by telling me to turn right on a one-way street that was going left ( she says she did that on purpose to see if I was paying attention. ) We came back to the range for lunch and then worked on backing the rest of the afternoon.
So tomorrow is our skills test. My classmate is first then me. They are giving us 30 minutes ... which SHOULD be plenty of time. They told me I can come in late so I get to sleep in a little extra. We are then spending the rest of the day on the road preparing for the Road Test .... which right now is scheduled for July 6th. -
That's too funny, how she tried to trip you up...but at least you caught it~! Man, I forgot about all those dang one way streets out there; sheesh. You've got quite the environment for testing man, you'll come out of there with talents that we "hilligans" don't learn until solo, LoL.
Don't 'overthink' the alley dock; that's what most people do. Just DRIVE THE TRAILER. Simplest way to put it. If you nailed the parallel, the alley dock is just your nerves, I think. The parallel takes way more physics and skill. Breathe; relax. There actually ARE a few good YouTube videos to help you with the alley (45 or 90).... I'm thinking @scottied67 has a few and his are very educational. Maybe he'll show up and post one, or you can look at his channel. I don't subscribe to YouTube or I'd post one here, for ya. I only watch what he posts on the forum, sorry.
How is it that I bet you won't sleep in anyway? LoL!~I'm behind ya, man.....
ps: What's up with blurring my vision in your avatar, lol~!wfutch79 Thanks this. -
The first thing they told us when we started learning the backs is to not watch Youtube .... it will only mess us up and it sure did .... I tried to watch some videos and it only screwed me up.
As far as the avatar goes, Facebook added some camera filters so I started playing around with them and snapped that photo with one of the filters.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
Hahahaha... that's funny about the avatar! Sorry about YouTube... i'm older and not much into it myself either, just heard a few "good things" about some of the educationals, but then again, you have 10 people telling you 10 'different' theories, yeah I can see the point in that.
As I said, don't overthink it, just drive the trailer. It'll be second nature to you, before long, man!wfutch79 Thanks this. -
Just to give your wife a taste of home ... that feels like is 111 ... it was up to 113 - 114 earlier ... it was HOT today.
G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
Holy COW~! We're at a balmy 73 here... See why we decided not to move there?!?
Stay cool and hydrated, man! Just WOW!!!!

Oh yeah .. forgot I got my mock trip back this morning. I got a 94% on it. I missed 1 point for not doing a recap on 1 day of my logs. Missed 5 points for going out of route. I went 50 miles out of route to get to an interstate instead of taking most direct route to my destination. It was all good though ... still passed it.
