10-4 Thats the seal I have been using, but I have not lubed it during installation. U suppose that could be my problem?
I never fooled with a big truck, but I rebuilt car and pick up truck rear ends before. You have to measure the pinion bearing preload or you'll wear the seal out prematurely. You over torque, you have to pull it apart, replace the new seal and start over. A critical step. You might want to check if it's a similar.
If I remember there is a crush ring up against the bearing that the yoke sits against that will not allow this to happen. Cause u have to tighten this with a 3/4in Impact
U know U may be right. Funny thing is that I turned wrenchs on these darn things for 10 years and have done many pinion seals and don't recall them leaking. Maybe I lubed them up. Can't remember been to long ago. CRS sets in early u know HA HA
