    Yes, it is a holiday.

I've known Chris for at least 13 years. And the owners for 24.

Just tell Chris that I put you on to them, he has my number if he wants to talk to me.

I know about the trip you made for Shadow and tht tells me you can handle hauling pipe.

Correction: The pipe from Camrose to Shaunavon pays $2500.00 for the tractopr. They supply the trailer. A round trip is 820 miles Which translates to $3.05 per running mile (empty one way).

Figure 20 hours a trip = $125.00 an hour to the tractor.

Driver rates vary from $26.00 to $30.00 an hour depending on driving experience.

Plus overtime after 8/40 and bennies.

Is it possible then, as a US citizen, to get a Canadian work permit? I know I saw something on this forum recently about eastern Europeans being recruited to Canada to fill driving positions. Any US drivers ever work up north? Heck, if they drew the border a little different I'd be Canadian anyways.

I can't tell you what you would have to do. In the mid 70's I had Canadians driving in Alaska when the pipeline was built. Alyeska Pipeline are the ones that dealt with the government to get them cleared.

A quick look and it seems like you need to apply first, get a job offer, and then go through the visa process, providing the job is deemed in need of being filled by a non resident. Wow, I'm just not used to seeing government policy and common sense so intertwined. Love it.
