While I was getting fuel at the T/A off I-620 in Dallas, a ambulance came screaming into the lot with several squad cars. Come to find out, a guy had climbed onto the steps of a truck and broke out the wing window. He reached in and grabbed this drivers wallet sitting on the dash but when he went to hop down, his foot got stuck between the tank and steps and he snapped his leg in half and was still hanging on the side of the truck....it was GREAT!!!

That's what hubby uses too. Keeps it right in his console next to his seat.
Big John Thanks this. -
Please back up your statement with fact(statute numbers). There are no federal or state laws pertaining to personal firearms in a commercial vehicle. I have carried concealed through many states that my Concealed Weapons License is valid in, as well as disassembled it and locked it up in the few states with draconian firearms laws.

I carry a flare gun with me. It is 100% legal....
have you ever shot anything with a flare gun??? you are basically throwing napalm at them and trust me, they will most likely leave you alone once they see down the HUGE barrell.
It also is mainly the way you act and carry yourself that makes you a target. i am very friendly and will converse with just about anyone, and this so far in my life has seemed to detour most people. I have had my fair share of confrontations and I have had 2 attempted robberies (both in Chicago) but I did not back down and stood my ground. neither had a gun, but both did have a knife and I bascially gave them the stance of "bring it on", and that makes me rethink the guy they chose, which in turn gives me enough time to advance them or figure out my next move.
I too was an officer for 2 years and know how to protect myself, but it really just takes common sense. If you have a wallet and they have a gun, just give it to them. You are not liable for your credit cards and if you have a lot of cash on you, then that was your own dumb mistake, especially if you are out on the road. What would you need $1,500 cash for???? and why have the credit cards if your gonna carry that kind of cash???
Anyways, just be safe and I hope all these ######## get what they deserve. -

Also here is a good link.... http://www.nraila.org/gunlaws/federal/read.aspx?id=59
I know it is a lot of legal mumbo-jumbo, but basically you have to transport the gun unloaded and locked away in a case or in a different seperate compartment, such as your sidebox. Now this is not for all states, such as here in Indiana I can carry with my concealed carry permit, but cannot when I drive thru IL or OH.
Honestly tho, I would just carry the gun unloaded and in it's case till I went to bed. then load it up and sleep peacefully. I have yet to see someone get robbed while driving down the road in a semi....unless you are in Hollywood and they are filming a new movie LOL -
Let's not forget our veterans who, in many cases, have faced the necessity of taking human life. They say the first one is always the most difficult. I think I would trust most of them to be able to do what needs to be done.
It's one thing to be trained. It's another entirely to have actual experience. -
Too bad that driver will now get sued by the burglar for providing an "attractive nuisance".SHC Thanks this.

Can't believe he would have his wallet on the dash. The only thing on my dash is my CB and XM radio nothing else. And when I parked I had a curtain that went around the windshield so nobody could see in plus I had tinted windows. A crook is going to knock and see if your home and look in the windows before trying to enter and if they can't see in they will more then likely move on.
I pulled into small closed down fuel stop in a small town south of Waco on Hwy 6 about 3AM one morning and just got stopped and set the brakes when this freaking crack head giant came up to my truck. I had tinted windows so he couldn't see in and he must have stood 6' 7" or better because he was eye level with my door glass. He knocked on my door and sleeper and I grabbed my S/W when he pulled on the door handle and then he walked around to the passenger side and looked threw the bottom door window and tried that door handle, he finally moved on when another truck came in. He wasn't the only crack head running around that night so it was best for me to move on.SHC Thanks this. -
Thats funny,I wonder if its the same old black guy that was walking around with two old rags in his hand begging (literally) and pleading with me to let him shine my wheels for money. I told him I was broke also and trying to find somebody to buy me a meal and walked away. LOL
