    I think the OP (@Diantane ) is a genius.

What appears to be a "weird non-sequetor" was actually intentional throw-in, to mix things up....

Think of this way: 99% of all threads always meander of the main topic by start of page 2-3.

The OP allowed his OWN thread to do that right from the first post. That GENIUS!!!

While hurricanes are a natural part of our climate system, recent research suggests that there has been an increase in intense hurricane activity in the North Atlantic since the 1970s. In the future, there may not necessarily be more hurricanes, but there will likely be more intensehurricanes that carry higher wind speeds and more precipitation as a result of global warming. The impacts of this trend are likely to be exacerbated by sea level rise and a growing population along coastlines.

Scientists are continuing to refine our understanding of how global warming affects hurricane activity. Cutting edge research is beginning to be able to attribute individual hurricanes to global warming. For example, new research estimates that as the Earth has warmed, the probability of a storm with precipitation levels like Hurricane Harvey was higher in Texas in 2017 than it was at the end of the twentieth century. Because of climate change, such a storm evolved from a once in every 100 years event to a once in every 16 years event over this time period.

I went to this museum that showed hundreds of extinct species caused by climate change.

Now I'm curious. What game? Was it a regional MUD? I'm unable to think of any multiplayer text based games.

I've also heard on the radio lately on NPR that regularly drinking coffee has been shown to prevent early death.

I'm no scientist just a driver who dropped out high skool, than got my GED 2 years later.

Theory is just that until it's proven by many scientific method studies, and than proven. Isn't evolution still a theory?

I watched a tree hugger documentary a few months ago, I think it was produced by Leo Decaprio. And being most of those type of people hate the oil industry more than life.

It came out to be showing how in actual scientific evidence that livestock farming world wide, is poluting our planet many more times in amount per year, than the petroleum industry as a whole world wide does in a year. Talk about crazy stuff.

Yes, it's the strength of the storm that seems stronger. Nowadays when we get one it's usually a 4 or 5 on the way in and a 3 or 4 when it makes landfall. In the past it seemed like most were 3's and 4's and be 1 or 2's once it hit land.

Number of storms per year always changes, or at lest the estimate does.

Seems to me the world goes in cycles. Eventually something will happen to restart the process, life will be wiped out, and it'll be like someone hit the reset button.

Interesting article here...discusses the 5 extinction level events the Earth has seen.

A blurb from it, that fits this thread..lol. Talk about coincidences. The blurb is in bold.

.Known as “the great dying”, this was by far the worst extinction event ever seen; it nearly ended life on Earth. The tabulate corals were lost in this period – today’s corals are an entirely different group. What caused it? A perfect storm of natural catastrophes. A cataclysmic eruption near Siberia blasted CO2 into the atmosphere. Methanogenic bacteria responded by belching out methane, a potent greenhouse gas. Global temperatures surged while oceans acidified and stagnated, belching poisonous hydrogen sulfide. “It set life back 300 million years,” says Schmidt. Rocks after this period record no coral reefs or coal deposits.

I found it an interesting read. Then again I'm kinda weird like that.

    Here's to not going extinct!

Sirscrapntruckalot - More kool-aid please sir?

Not always. If it was a municipal court, he could appeal or ask to move to state court. I've done it to win or have traffic cases reduced...and it's not hard to do. All I can tell you is your brother got screwed without a reach around.

But that's why "they" get away with such crap. A LOT of people don't know their full rights or the law....therefore a lot of people just accept their punishment for what it is. Hiring a lawyer seems too expensive for most people....so they pay the fine and take it on the chin. They have NEVER gotten over on me....and won't.

Like I said earlier in this thread. If I'm guilty of a traffic violation, I take responsibility. But they better have all their I's dotted and T's crossed. I've wiggled out of way more traffic violations than I care to admit. At one point in my life, I was up to 12 points. I have had my license suspended for laying drags and reckless driving when I was 20 years old. But now...you'd have to go back 18 years to find ANY points/violations on my record. I've been issued 3 citations in that time frame and got out of all 3 due to knowing the law better than the local judicial system.
