Crap. They may have went under.?
The owner was previously an engineer over at Wilson trailer, the ones who make flats, steps, pneumatics, grain wagons. Im sure you know the company..

What was supposed to make the Crossman so good was there are no welds on it except the rub rail, everything else was huck bolted. You can see some evidence of this on the neck of the pic you posted.

They were super spendy, IMO, around $35-$40k when I enquired few years ago. They probably didn't sell a whole lot because of that. A 40' flatdeck rated @40k lbs gross weighs about 6500lbs.. Too bad.

Should have looked before I posted. Looks like back to Alum-line. My post came off weird, didn't mean alum-line was a bad product, but I thought Crossman was a cut above.

What are thought on Eby, see some of there aluminum trailer running around time to time. Never up close..

UPDATE.. Trailers are getting flipped on they're sides, every weld on the bottom getting x-rayed and dye tested Tuesday. Found atleast a dozen more cracked welds just getting under it with a creeper. Can't believe the non craftsman ship and horrible welding they push out the door at PJ trailers.

You must have gotten very unlucky on that one with a rookie welder who didn't know what he was doing, but IDK how they put these trailers together as far as whether it is one person to blame for a crap job, or whether they used the wrong kind of wire or something. Dunno. Most people don't have them fall apart like that I don't think.

This is unfortunate. I use to hear good stuff about PJ trailers. Recently I've been reading more and more cases like this with them. Seems quality control is a thing of the past with these trailers. I have an older 2006 Econoline and am impressed with the way it was built. Also have a 2015 Griffin dump trailer and if it wasn't for getting a good deal on it I would have passed. The welds look horrible on it and the paint sucks.

Could be just one bad welder in the bunch, could be their QC oversight isn't good, I don't know, but one things for sure, the way PJ responded and treated @Elg1968 is enough to turn me off from buying one.

Hopefully, someone from PJ is listening and takes steps to rectify this issue. What a kick in the pants it would be to have a Chinese made trailer better quality than the ones made here.

Like I said in an earlier post, I've got a Loadtrail and I had to redo the inadequate weld job myself...

And so the fun starts, sandblasting the welds for the x-ray crew and then a look over from a metallurgist to write up a report for the court. Having a closer look under here really shows how poorly these 2 trailers were built, They're gonna get someone hurt or killed putting stuff like this on the road.
