Done my whiz-quiz, and then stopped by the carrier to go through a butt-load of paper work. I did ask about load confirmation sheets, and if we're able to see exactly what the truck is paid. I was told that they decided a long time ago, the company is going to be up front and honest with the drivers, and not hide anything. We will, as a matter of standard procedure, be given a copy of the load confirmations.
Well, I'm starting to get into the head-spinning stuff. I've never been exposed to all the paper involved until now. No big deal, I love a good challenge to the gray matter.
If you are running loads under 200 miles you also need to consider $/hr and $/day, both as a company driver and as an o/op. If you have to spend 2 hours loading and 2 hours unloading and 2 hours driving on a load that pays a gross of $400 it might not be a good paying load. You only have so many hours/day to run that truck...so you need to make those hours productive.
