Western Stars are just Freightshakers with a different skin. The Detroit in one is like the Detroit in any Frieghtshaker. I've driven 2 WS 5700. Both 2019 trucks. One was at 450k. Constantly in the shop. The second only had 200k but spent its fair share of time in the shop, the owner said its uncommon and he'd get rid of the second if possible. Both were rickety trucks. So I wouldn't call these sturdy. And they ride like crap. Neither were as tight as my previous Volvo. Hood is fancy though. I'm surprised the Cascadia was more considering WS is their "Premium" truck. I personally wouldn't buy either.

mhmm that’s unfortunate I own 2 5700’s and both are great trucks neither one has been in the shop for emissions issues. One has almost a million miles that runs team operation. No squeaking of rattles and has been a stellar truck. I drive the other with no issues both trucks are maintained above the normal main schedules snd still look like new inside snd out. So It really comes down to any truck or equipment is treated.
Both of my Great Dane trailers are 10 years old as well and believe it or not still look new. It’s what good mai and care will get yo. Versus some ragged out company junk.
