Yeah I never worked with pads just wheels and now a days aren't they counterbalanced or something

 

Yes theres a very noticeable difference in the way they are counterbalanced. You can pick up the nose of the newer dollies we have like its nothing. Some of the old ones were pretty heavy.

I'm hoping for a speedy recovery for you also. I strongly feel they did not train you right. Not enough safety issues discussed. I ran doubles back in 85, for a couple of years. Safety should have been a priority for them teaching you. We ALL make mistakes, and like HW said all the time guys are getting hurt. formertaxidriver, you are a young lady, and I know for a fact, that most woman are not a strong as some men, I takes a lot of energy for a woman to handle one of the old dollies, NOT EASY. I give you a LOT of credit moving forward and getting a job running doubles. I can assure you, If I saw you, and very nice looking woman, trying to hook them up, IM coming over there to help you or talk to you and get them hooked up. Hope it all turns around for you soon FTD. An injury like yours can happen in any trade and is everyones nightmare. This serves as a reminder to me to always take my time and be careful whether truckin' wrenchin' or playing with my boat- #### can happen.

Also pushing the tires to steer has always been helpful for me. Granted I've only messed with the kind that has the small wheel in front.
