Pallets will crush easily, solid blocks, not so much.
I have access to belts out of hay balers. They are excellent for edge protection.aiwiron Thanks this. -
Havnt ever used those but my dad carries old conveyor belt out of one of them rock crusher deals from the quarries. Uncle works for the county and throws us some scrap pieces when he can. I cant speak for the baler belts but the ones from that rock crusher are excellent. Guess thats why my dad took them lol.critters, bullhaulerswife and aiwiron Thank this.

It looks good how many scales u pass? I would have thrown a strap in between those pallets keep them tight I mean u gotta work with what u got right? Good job it looks good.

Didnt go through any scales too 2 lanes back down to lincoln 81 down to 34 and headed east to i180 hit 80 tookthat to the 405 and ran to sapp bros they were full so i ran back up the road to saia where my dad used to work waited for one of the guys to get back and asked if i could park there for the night said no problem. Idk if you can see in the pic but there was a door on the passenger side of one of them grinder things about half back on the trailer the latch was broke didnt realize it made it 4 miles and the door was flapping pulled over bungee it and a state trooper pulled behind me to ask if i was okay. Said yea explained what i was doing and said ill be going in a min. He didnt say anything about the securement but i got to thinking about it when i stopped last night ans figured id ask.
Thanks for the replies everybody. Just might make a flatbedder outta me yet
aiwiron Thanks this. -
Everything looked good to me except for the pallets as mentioned and the cardboard edge protection You got the proper securement for sure, just need to work on the accessories lol
aiwiron Thanks this. -
Lol thanks all the securment in the world dont do no good without accessories does it? I cut up the old mudflaps that came off my tractor and threw them in the tool box found an old conveyor belt in the trunk of our car cut that up and threw that in there too should be good now for corner protectors think i have about 50 good heavy rubber ones
aiwiron Thanks this. -
We ordered our corner protectors from these guys. They are out of Urbana, IA

We ordered some of the white plastic ones from them as well. They didnt work too well for us always cracked however they have the rubber ones that the strap goes through and those worked fairly well for block. Didnt work to well for steel when it was chained. I think they need to be thicker than they are for the chains and steel but for block, they worked great didnt move or slip off the corner either.
bullhaulerswife Thanks this. -
I can't offer you any tips because it hurt too much to look at those pics. As far as I'm concerned, if you got that delivered without a ticket, or a cut strap, or losing something, you're a hero hand.
SHC, 379exhd, aiwiron and 1 other person Thank this.
