You were pulled into a weigh station, or "pulled over" on the side of the road?

Doesn't really matter if the guy was rude, asking him to clarify what you did wrong would of been the prudent thing to do. Just sayin'.

The way you logged the entry was incorrect. He should of at least allowed you to correct the entry upon explaination, however, maybe his wife told him, "not tonight, I have a headache" and he decided to take it out on you.

Wow, you and your drivers sure seem to get a lot of citations.
Log books, speeding, what else might there be?

Maybe you should take a step back and look at what your doing, consider some school or training to help get a handle on things. Having a good legal advisor could also be a prudent decision.

This is the time to go to court, IF the violation is that major to you. Officers accuse you of wrong-doing, judges decide if they are correct. We all make mistakes, seems like you are one of us.

The regulations do not say what the log form must look like. However, it must include a 24-hour
graph grid, which is shown in the regulations, and the following information on each page:

    • Date. You must write down the
month, day, and year for the
    beginning
    of each 24-hour period.
    (Multiple consecutive days off
duty may be combined on one log
page, with an explanation in the
    “Remarks.”)
    https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/sites/fmcsa.dot.gov/files/docs/Drivers Guide to HOS 2015_508.pdf

    ---------------------------------

So in the remarks you would note what dates are being combined but at the top left you need to show the date for the beginning of the period covered.

Typically your day starts at midnight (00:00). If you are working at any point between 00:00 and 23:59 it is not possible to be off duty that entire day. Period. An honest mistake? Likely. Is it still a logbook violation? Yes.

When you noted on the page with multiple dates that you were off 3/11... you said you were off 3/11. Which in fact you came to work that day. LEGALLY, & for logging purposes, you can't say you were off 3/11 when you came to work on 3/11.

To answer your question, you are in violation & the officer was legally correct to issue you a citation for the offence.

Rude or not, you should have asked him and you might have got your 15 minutes to fix the error. I have faced over $4500 in log book violations and I believe my interest in communication with the officer got me the break I needed.
Back in the day DOT HAD ME! Log book about 3 1/2 days behind and no telling what all violations.

Talk about rude, he opened one book, told me to read it, then asked if I understood what I read and asked me to read outloud the ###, $2000.

Then he grabs another book and does the same thing, ### read $2500.

Communication is key, I asked for 15 minutes to get my book up to date.

Our yard was about 25 miles away, he let me go on a warning as long as I promised to shut down for 24hrs after I got to the yard.

I started running loose leaf after that.

My windshield was shattered on top of everything else.

He wrote 3/11 in the date portion on two seperate pages, not two log books.
