To be, or not to be: that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles, And by opposing end them?

    Next time do this:

First log page to show you are off duty write in top left corner 03/05/17. Draw line across all 24 hours of off duty. Write under that off duty 03/05/17 thru 03/10/17. Start next log page. Date 3/11/17. Draw line off duty till the time you started your shift on the 11th and go bout your business.

Post 29 in this thread came the closest in my opinion. I have been all over California. I did several repos there many years ago. California is tough I admit. However I have had California DOT cops as well as regular cops to cut me breaks. Drivers should know the rules. A driver should know how California is about Tandem measurements as well. There is NO reason for a driver legally running to avoid California. During my driving career I made some great money hauling into and out of California. No matter where you are though. If you become a dick and start trying to tell a cop how to do their job you are going to get into trouble. Best to give the officer your legals shut your mouth and let the officer do their job. Then when something is found don't go all stupid, just simply ask the officer and see if you can fix what is in reality a form and manner logbook error.

On the subject of states like California, Ohio, NY and Maryland I have had DOT cops to give me breaks. The biggest problem states for me during my career was Texas and Oklahoma. I still to this day think EVERY COP that works anywhere near both US 59 & US 287 should be wearing Gestapo uniforms, because I swear the way they OVER enforce Texas law reminds me of the Gestapo!
