I'm from Kansas too, But unlike the other guy, I used to drive a US registered truck in and out of Mexico on a daily basis, hauling propane, which is all they have to heat their homes. All I have too say is, Mexican truck drivers have to be tough hombres, if they want to keep their jobs.
Please Help!!!!!!!!!! (in Mexico)

Then if what you claim is true, it blows the oppositions argument out of the water that Mexico has no regulatory structure.

40 hours to get a CDL in mexico? ####, I had to take 140 hours to get a CDL at a training school in america. But no they aren't unsafe drivers at all.
And also, I am now driving a 2012 international prostar that was made in mexico. Brand new truck and its been in the shop twice. So glad we moved the factory across the border and got all that additional quality in our products. -
Yes there is. A newly assigned customs inspector brought a dog out to sniff one of their propane trailers. There were drugs hidden in the nose of the trailer. There was a story on 60 minutes about it. Apparently the new inspector hadn't been bribed yet. After that they had to use an American company to haul propane, which was their legitimate business. I saw those customs inspectors everyday. Didn't realize they were probably being bribed millions. And all us American drivers had to do was roll up to the window and say "US citizen" and get the wave thru. this was pre 9-11.
