I'm from Kansas too, But unlike the other guy, I used to drive a US registered truck in and out of Mexico on a daily basis, hauling propane, which is all they have to heat their homes. All I have too say is, Mexican truck drivers have to be tough hombres, if they want to keep their jobs.

40 hours to get a CDL in mexico? ####, I had to take 140 hours to get a CDL at a training school in america. But no they aren't unsafe drivers at all.
And also, I am now driving a 2012 international prostar that was made in mexico. Brand new truck and its been in the shop twice. So glad we moved the factory across the border and got all that additional quality in our products. -
