I'm not 100% but I wanna say I was paying between $1300 to $1700 in Missouri a few years ago for all 48 states.

I'm in the same process for IL and they do not give you any way to figure out the costs before hand. They tell you that once you fill out the form with estimates of mileage by state they will send you a bill. My guess is that they are afraid that people will use the formula to figure out how to get the cheapest starting cost possible.

But after year one it doesn't matter because then it goes on mile you ran in each state from previous year.

I'm calling OOIDA. They are always helpful.

Just got ball park for IL for new O/O getting Authority and running all 48. Base Plates (or IRP) is about $3,200 per year (ouch) and to get everything else you need is $900 (and this includes the processing fee). That is from OOIDA. Take a few states out and that will go down.

you really dont have to pay anyone to do your IRP, to get an estimate of what it'll cost just go to the irp.org website and use the fee estimator. if it's your first time registering then you have to use an "E" in the mileage field of the state/states you plan to run, click the save and calculate button and it'll tell you how much you'll have to pay each state. add all of those dollar amounts up and you'll have an estimated cost of what your IRP will cost. Once you have an estimate just download and print out the IRP Application and fill it out and then do the same for your IFTA. Once you have them filled out take a drive to your state capitol or where ever it is that you have to send your application and pay them and hand them the application, you'll get your cab card, plate, and IFTA decals all in the same day.
