Right, that's what I'm thinking as well. B is a little bigger but I've heard nothing but great reviews from all their drivers. Their turnover rate is very very low. So either way, they're both good.

Yeah, that's about what it's coming down to lol.

Did my drug test, physical test and road test for Company B yesterday. Man, it's so weird driving an automated manual truck! Cascadia's are pretty nice trucks though. I went with an OTR driver and he gave me a TON of insight on the company. I can say that I would be very happy with company B. But I don't want to jump into any decision yet until I speak with company A on Monday. Will report back then and I should know my decision by then.

    Thanks for the replies everyone!

    A. Hourly is better then mileage. Easier to track. You may only get $40 to 60 hours a week. The great thing is. You'll get paid no matter what. Plus hourly is seen as stable income by banks. In case you want to finance a new car or home. With mileage pay. Banks won't hardly touch you. So there is defiantly more to think about them the job it's self.

A isn't hourly, it's salary. But I get where you're coming from. That's also what others have told me. If I know exactly what I make, I'm more likely to get approved for a mortgage or car loan. So I'm definitely considering that option for sure.

If it was me I'd go with company A. 40 cpm is on the low end of pay these days. Plus you said company B has runs to NY. A grand a week (gross) is pretty good money and it's guaranteed. You'd have to drive 2500 every single week with company B to earn that.

    Samuel Coyne Thanks this.

Right. I agree. I was told B will keep me rolling.. But I really really like the thought of guaranteed pay whether I drive 2000 miles or 4 miles.

If I could, or was offered a salary or hourly paying job. One where I could be home. I would take it in a minute. Unfortunately some of us don't ever get offers like that. 15 years over the road. I have a feeling I'll be over the road stuck at so,so until I retire. Any ways I wish you luck on what you decide.

Thanks. I am leaning towards the salary job as well, but like I said, I need to sit and talk with the guys at that company first before I can decide!
