See, I'm spoiled because of our family farm. All the crops are raised to feed the herd at our family farm. Other than selling the milk, it's a self-sustaining operation. I know my uncle has had some ups and downs with it, but all in all, he's doing pretty good with it. It's been in the family since my mom was a little girl!

Sure can hang em up! They don't have to buy beef, chicken, eggs, or milk, that's for darn sure!

If the paycheck will cover your bills with some left over to save.....take it!!!!!

60 hours a week (45k/yr if time and 1/2) it would be great. 40 hours is 25k a year and I would pass.

You should take it. If your desire is to go OTR you should wait till things get a little better out here. If that ever happens.

It is usually not too hard to find a job driving a straight truck - I say take this one for the experience it is a semi, right? - I've had a lot of jobs that got way better once I got into it - and a few that were a lot worse - you just have to jump into it, get the miles (hours), keep your logs, learn whatever you can, and see how it goes- IMHO
-
I would't exactly call "$12.50 an hour" a decent wage

I average 600 miles a day, sometimes less, sometimes more.
Averaging 600 miles a day; averages $228 a day. Divided by 12 (11 average driving day....no more than 1 hour at shipper/receiver OR 1 hour PTI/fuel) equals $19 an hour. -
For a guy with less than a year experience? With the miles, or lack there of these days, going with a more sure thing sounds like a better choice to me than taking a chance on getting 1,000 miles a week if you're lucky.1pissedoffdriver Thanks this.
