What about benefits at either of these places? You might want to consider that also in your figuring.

I have, Im only intrested in vaction, holidays. I have health through the wifes job. I dont even know if its going to happen. I was offered the job, but the owner of the compant told me a guy named Al would be giving me a call. This is her right hand man, he drives, repairs, makes out the work load and what ever else for her. But I havent heard from him.

Man I would jump all over it. I am a rookie driver doing OTR and I am making about $300 a week after taxes. Its rough out there right now and I am affraid its going to get worse. I am trying to hang in there but at this rate I am going to starve. House payment is $1000 a month and I am making $1200. Not going to be able to live like that long.

I started at .40 Cpm and made $60 K last year (Been OTR since July 2007 with last year being my first full year)....

That being said I came in when the industry was crying for drivers, and you could run as many miles as your log book(s) would allow.

Like everyone else my mileage has gone down and the paychecks are really showing that fact.

In this day and age I think he would be wise to take the job and get the experience...

Otherwise he will be in the same boat as so many other new guys who have said they are taking home $300.00 a week making swift or (insert starter company here) .26 cpm to get experience....

I do think its a great place to start...
