I ran into that one time when my 13 year old daughter was riding with me.
The load assignment didn't say anything about it, but when I got there they would not let me in with her in the truck.
My DM suggested that I drop her off at a truck stop or gas station and then pick her up again after I was loaded.
Really? Put her in harms way just to pick up this load?
I ended up refusing the load. They had to find me another load and find another driver for that one - all because that restriction was not stated plainly in the load assignment.
Please help me with getting on the road.

Why can't you get the hazmat on your own?
-
Don't have the money right now and yes I'm embarrassed to say that. Been out of work for some months due to transportation issues. I pray about this every day.

Lately....Schneider has apparently changed/updated their hiring requirements for the tanker fleet....to include hazmat.
Suggestion: YOU HAVE TO START OUT SOMEWHERE....so, do what I did....begin with Schneider...but in their dry van fleet ---> Schneider is apparently also hiring drivers in your area for dry van duty:
Regional Truck driver -- Schneider -- Baton Rouge area -- no prev CDL experience req'd
One possible alternative: learn CDL driving on the dry van side (like I did)....& then move on to tankers, later.
You won't really need the hazmat....to start out with dry van.
But do get that hazmat endorsement ASAP.
