Lol, a motor bike with a cummins N14 engine? On this part of earth, everyone refers to a starter as "kick starter". Anyways, I'm talking about a truck. Cheers.

When I start it in the morning, it fires as though its been waiting eagerly for me to come do that lol. I go about my normal business but if I put the tuck off after driving a while, it wouldn't start back immediately until I allow it to cool for about 30minutes. If I try to start it before it cools off, it drags as though my batteries were weak. But after about 30 min of cooling, it rolls and fires fine till the next time I put it off and have to wait about 30min again for it to cool down.

The starter is new, not up to a months old

Hi. Nope, the injectors shouldn't be leaky as its just been done. Think its more of a power issue as the +ve wires go really hot during starting. I've changed all the cables including ground cables and the problems is still just same. Think the starter is going to come down for the 100th time on monday.

Did you do the load test on the starter yet,, just need an amp clamp meter and 2 min...

Hi. I haven't done the load test yet. Honestly, I can't do it myself as I'm not brilliant with electrical. I've got a bloke who is going to check it out on monday. I'll surely give you a feed back when its done. Many thanks for your pieces of advice.

To me it sounds like a bad battery in the mix. Take all your battery cables off and check the voltage of each one. They should all be 12V-12.5V. If you have a bad one in the mix it will read lower like 10V. You can load test them but that's a quick way of checking them. I'm sure the bad one is obvious. Make sure all your connections are good and tight, no corrosion.

Hi. Quite a very useful information, thanks. I'd spoken to them about testing the batteries but they always discard my suggestions with "ohhh, the batteries are new, nothing could be wrong with them". I'm going to get a voltmeter on monday and I'll DEFINITELY do it myself. What I noticed tho that it reads 12.5v on the dash when the ignition is in the "on" position and it goes straight up to 14v when the truck is started. The connections are the tighest that can be. Many thanks indeed.

That's normal. A battery will hold 12.5V. When started a healthy alternator will generate 14.0-14.5V. With that info I'd think something else unless they are lying about the batteries. :)

You should be able to look at them and tell. But there are lemon new stuff sold everyday. It would just take a few minutes to rule them out.
