I need a different path here. This is not working. My exhaust manifold looks to be 3 pieces, can just the end section be removed? How likely are the bolts to break on this as well?
PLEASE HELP!

You are still good if can drive it, I started some truck repairs on the driveway and had to tow it to shop.Last edited: May 2, 2019

i got 2 bolts holding egr valve on. you can clearly hear the exhaust leak, but shop is 8 miles away. How much damage can I cause driving with a major exhaust leak? I am concerned that I will do more damage than I already have. I cant tow from my current location, so I either have to get it to a towable spot or drive it there. I just dont know if I can damage anything with major exhaust leak

This is why I buy pre egr trucks. For 3-5k you get this spreading cancer taken care of. Only way I’d buy a new truck.

Well, drove her with the new EGR valve installed. I went on a short 115 mile trip. Exhaust temps around 525 degrees at 65mph pretty much the whole way there, soot level increased steadily. Unloaded, drove about 15 minutes and the exhaust temps went to 600-650 for a good hour straight, soot level went from 100 % to about 60%...then as fast as it changed for the good, the exhaust temps went back to the 525 range and soot level began to creep again. So tired of chasing this down. I have replaced #### near everything emission related. truck runs great, excellent power, unreal mpg, but just wont let the egt raise for passive regens...

You pretty much just threw parts at it. Who is diagnosing the truck?

Socal Xpress Thanks this.

Volvo has been diagnosing the truck. as for forced regenning...here what is now happening. on a 300 mile trip, my soot level went from 11% to 100%. during this time my exhaust temps were 465-525 degrees. As soon as I hit 100% soot level, the truck started passive regenning and exhaust temps were 625+. This has happened 2 days in a row. The truck only wants to passive regen when soot level hits 100%. Is there a setting in PTT for when passive regens occur. I know they did a ecu flash after the egr cooler was installed. Thats when this whole mess started.

went to a local independent shop today, He ran the truck through a regen with PTT. He claimed nothing looked out of whack and the regen finished successfully, but all my parked and forced regens were never a problem.
these are the numbers during regen
Exhaust gas temp - 707.2 degrees
DPF Intake temp 927.9 degrees
DPF Outlet Temp 936.4 degrees
Aftertreatment fuel pressure 68.2psi
engine fuel pressure 70.5psi
Manifold pressure 2.1 psi
Soot Ratio 11%
DPF Differential pressure .29 this went to .17 when regen was finished.
