    Waiting till next march sucks when you look at it now but at least your down to the last year and if you still want to do it then there will be jobs available hope you find something now but at least you won't have to wait more than a year otherwise

    Here is a list of companies that sometimes hire drivers with some problems such as yours; It's at least worth applying. The worst that can happen is to be denied and all it cost you is a little time on the computer. You will have to go to CDL school first because they don't have their own CDL training. You can apply online and give them a graduation date from CDL school and explain the ticket was on a motorcycle. I recommend applying with them all.     You were lucky at least it didn't kill you.

    It is a good idea to see if you can get on somewhere than do the schooling somewhere and find out no one will hire you.

    You may also need to make sure you have paperwork from a dr stating that you are fit to drive. Not sure if the accident would be far enough off or not, but since you are just getting out of the service it is better to have all your paperwork lined up and ready just in case.

    Not true anybody can do 1 year . OTR carriers have a turnover rate of over 100% . A large percentage don't make the year and get billed for several thousand dollars and the carrier won't certify the training .
    100% turnover means a carrier that needs 5,000 drivers hires 5,000 drivers a year . Most of these are newbies because experienced drivers won't work for the low pay .

    A big part of being able to operate a large, heavy truck on the highways involves using good judgment. I also ride and to be blunt, taking an exit ramp on a bike at a speed that will put you into the trees if you break traction shows an utter lack of good judgment. Who knows what could be on that ramp - oil, sand, diesel fuel, or as you found - ICE. Take a ramp too fast in a truck, and it's going to be on its side, guaranteed. Happens every day.

    Cmon lets not exaggerate 100% .. im from MO your gonna have to show me yes its high but not no 100% a nbc d y es MN any many people do the one yr so dont act like it dont happen just because you have a negative out look on things doesnt mean we share your views.

    And drivers have to start over sometimes your idea that exp drivers dont work for low pay is bull.I do and so does 4 other veteran drivers in my class .point is if you dont know the facts rick keep your opinion. To yourself trying to scare newbies away is not helping the situation.

    Yes and we are all working for low pay that is why for the turn over most that can are getting out and the rest or most like me are on there way out

    Umm, if you do the 1 year contract thing..its not "free" training. After you graduate, the company takes 30 or 40 a week from your check to cover "your costs" of the training. They do this for the 1 year. Then the commitment is considered paid in full
