I think you're correct Chestnut.
Loss of sleep? Not me.
But be careful, if Wannabee doesn't agree with your opinion(s) he might ding you with an anti-green square like he did me.
A very successful heavy-haul O/O once asked me, " If you can't handle the written truth, how are you going to handle the trucking industry?"
He had a good point.
I think Wannabee would be wise to ponder that thought. He thinks he can handle a bottom-feeder trucking company and whatever they can dish out, but he can't handle lil ol' me.
Imagine that.
How would y'all like to be his driver trainer?
Please Help!!!

I would like to apologize to you Aftershock. I'm trying to break into an industry that you have knowledge about and I appreciate your input. Sorry for the tone and some of my other posts. I hope you can accept my apology
-
Dude, you're about to get banned if you don't stop with the insults and name calling. It doesn't matter who started it, either. Just tryin' to help you out man.
-
Scarecrow, thank you for the warning. I honestly do appreciate people like you who actually know how to talk to other people, and who actually do care. And for that I thank you.
-
The scarecrow is a good man.

All of us guys could spend hours on end getting wrapped up in a manhood endowment competition, but if the moderators of this site let that go on then it wouldn't be the reputable site it has become. We're all adults around here and we all need to act like it. Like I said, I see the points that both of y'all are making, so I'm not singling either of you out. I'm just asking for a peaceful, and civil, conclusion to this debacle.
-
And you are right Scarecrow. I do not know what came over me.
To Aftershock,
I sincerely apologize for anything that I may have said that is or was offensive to you. I do value your opinion (although harsh at time) and I do hope that you can accept my apology. -
The "very successful heavy-haul trucker" I mentioned, who asked me the question I posted, did so because I was being head-strong -- back in the day. I was about to read him the riot act for being so blunt in his previous attempts to get me to open my eyes and see the light, but I wouldn't. That is, until he asked me that question.
Then, a light bulb went on over my head and I finally saw the light. Sometimes it takes a knock up-side my head, or even a kick in my buttox, to make me understand. Many folks won't do that. But I sure appreciate those who will, and DO.
My ULTIMATE goal in any given matter is the TRUTH. SOMEtimes, the truth hurts --- for several reasons.
1. I have to admit I was wrong.
2. The manner in which it needed to be delivered.
3. Because I realize I've been mis-informing others -- and need to backtrack to make sure those I mis-informed have the correct information.
Knowing I know the truth helps ease the pain though.
I crave stimulating conversation(s) where opposite opinions are expressed. That gives me the opportunity to re-examine my own opinions and decide if I need to change my opinion(s) due to the additional input from others, or, be more secure in my personal opinion(s). Either way, it's a win/win situation.
Would you believe that some of my best friends see things 180 degrees apart from my view(s)?
It's twue!
It's twue!
Imagine how boring conversation(s) would be if we all agreed all of the time.
I hope you understand my posts were NOT an attempt to belittle YOU. No sir! Not at all.
But I AM passionate about informing ANY others about ONE company that HAS practically ruined MANY fine folks, who, just like you, only had intentions of doing a fine job and succeeding. Like I've mentioned before, I personally know several such folks who experienced the pitfalls of C.R. England.
Some of them caught a break and continued their careers as Big truck truck drivers. Others weren't as fortunate. Their credit was destroyed, they lost their home, and were forced to file for bankruptcy. Not a pretty picture -- especially when C.R. England added salt to the wound and twisted the knife by putting a bad report on their DAC record -- causing trucking companies to reject them.
Bottom feeder companies are NOT all the same. Some just treat thier Big truck truck drivers shabbily -- but England goes farther by ruining their former drivers if they don't jump through England's fiery hoop. Even when they DO jump through that hoop, there's no guarantee they won't catch fire and burn.
You mentioned that C.R. England must be doing SOMEthing right. Well, they are. But it's what's right for C.R. England to make the profits and NOT their drivers.
Are ANY drivers happy there?
I guess there must be because it seems at least SOME remain. I don't know how or why, but it's been suggested by those who know more than I that those who ARE happy there are Latter Day Saints (Mormon). I have no proof of that, but it does seem to make sense.
I well understand your desire to get into the Big truck truckin' industry. I was where you are not too many years ago, although without the citation thing hanging over me. My ONLY regret is that I didn't get into the industry sooner. It was the most perfect fit of any job I'd ever had prior to then.
I think it fit so well because, like you, I wasn't married -- no family waiting for me to get home every two weeks. My parents suggested I not rent an apartment to see only once a month, but rather take a room in their house, which I did.
Actually, truth be known, I think they just wanted to take care of my apartment sized pitbull terrier while I was on the road.
I'm pretty independent, and I preferred to stay out six to ten weeks at a time, then take a week or more off-time. I found that to be much better than two-weeks out and two-days off. With that, one day was resting and the second day was getting ready to roll again. That got old real fast.
Also, when it came to holidays, I volunteered to run -- partly because I liked the more relaxed atmosphere and partly because it gave those with families a chance to spend the time at home. As an added bonus, those with families thought they owed ME a favor for taking their loads. I can't begin to tell you how many free cups of coffee and free meals I've received as a result.
The last company I drove for brokered loads that took me places most drivers don't even know exist. I even got to meet the Hawaiian Tropics Girls on several occasions. Tell me THAT isn't a dream come true.
All that was made possible because I always strove to be the best of the best at what I did in the Big truck truckin' industry. And it paid off BIG time, for me.
Please understand that my reasons for hounding you were because you sound a lot like me in your desire to drive a Big truck, and I'd hate to see you wind up with a company that will chew you up and spit you out without a single care for doing so. And I WASN'T attacking YOU, but I was, and will continue to attack C.R. England and their practice of ruining those, like you and me, who's only desire is to succeed in the Big truck truckin' industry.
I've seen, and acknowledge your white flag as I display mine. Whattya say we fold 'em up and store them for another battle?
Hopefully, they won't be needed.
There are NO hard feelings on my part Wannabe.
In fact, I look forward to the day I can call you "newbie", "rookie" -- and "seasoned driver".
Good luck and best of success.
Sincerely!
OH!
And if we should ever meet --- I like my coffee strong, maybe with cream, if it's REAL cream, but never with sugar.
Even if the sugar is real.

O U C H !!
I/We needed that.
I'll concede you're an "adviser" -- but you're anything but "brainless".
You asked for a "peacefull, and civil, conclusion to this debate"? --- :smt067:smt063:smt064:smt021:smt062:smt075
Your wish is my command. :smt057

Alas, the resolve was the same, even if the issue being resolved wasn't.
Thanks, fellers. I appreciate both y'all manning/cowboying up, and I'm sure that the moderators do as well.
In fact, I added to Wannabe's reputation as a result. I'd add to yours, again, Shocky, if I could. Seems I've not spread around enough love lately. Also, I had to kill one of your smilies so I could include mine. My bad.
Y'all have a good'n.
