Well Doc, Im going to give you the benefit of the doubt and say that you did nothing wrong provided everything is the truth in your statement. As you know, drivers can be slated towards their own agenda and views when they feel they in a bind.My self included.(dang it...hehe) That being said, I agree with the other drivers that maybe you should look for employment elsewhere if they cannot see the light and rectify the situation appropriatly with you based on the circumstances that you are in. My opionion is that all companies today are not the same as they was many years ago and in that statement means they no longer care about the driver, just the bottom line and their own self greed. Its a shameful attitude these so called college educated punks have these days in running a trucking firm. Wish you the best of luck and God bless you and your family.

Yes, I believe my days are numbered, here. I refuse to badmouth them. I have not done so, with any other employer, I'm not going to start now. I simply wanted to ask for some objectivity, and I believe I got it, here.

As far as the termination from Flying J, they informed me, when I told them how long I would be gone, that FMLA required them to terminate me after 12 weeks, but they would be happy to re-hire me when I went to return to work. It just so happened, that the economy went south during this time. I understand them not hiring me back, due to the economic circumstances, I am simply disappointed, that the Lead Driver who took over, right about the time I was to be coming back, had a different agenda, and wasn't enough of a man to tell me the truth. He said, that although he really wanted all the drivers to be based out of HIS traditional Plaza, not the one I worked for, he was going to process my application, but never did. He should have been man enough to tell me, to my face that he had a plan, to downsize and save some money and wasn't hiring. He left me believing I still had a shot at re-hiring, and some time was wasted, and money lost, while waiting to re-hire, and then NEVER getting that call. I always thought he was a really decent boss, based on everything I heard from his drivers, and my dealings with him were always positive, until he jacked me around, about the re-hire. Oh, well I have to put it behind me and move on, just like I'll have to do with this company I am working for.
