I have a normal college dorm fridge from Walmart. Cost about 100 bucks. Stay away from the Coleman coolers, mine always melted the plug in the outlet, leading to a headache. This will only work if you have an inverter in the truck though

Does the mini fridge make your trucks hot? What do you use to plug it in? We have a thermoelectric cooler right now. We unplug it anytime we shut truck off to save the battery. Only problem weve ever had is in mid summer in Texas 120 degree weather it was hot in the truck so it couldnt keep as cold, milk spoiled but no,problems after that. Its just to small for 2 people really

The heat produced will be minimal and hardly noticed with the climate control working.

when i ran the road, i had a plug in cooler. i once had a colman, then i had an igloo. perfect, either one. then one job i had, the truck had an installed fridge, great. so for me, i'd go cooler, cheaper to replace if it craps out.

I'd go with the largest you can get away with. A dorm fridge will probably need a peak of 500 watts to start but will run at about 125 watts. (A 1000 watt should be ample) Though getting a larger inverter will give you more options.

If you have 120v power in the truck you need to have a mini fridge, it does not make the truck hot, and it does not kill my batteries overnight either.
