Plug into ecm

    6 pin port is a J1708/J1587 network. 9 pin is J1939. The two networks aren't cross compatible IIRC.

    I have the china cat com 3. Says it's setup for j1939 but my trucks are 6 pin will the oem cat 9 pin to 6 pin help me connect!!?

    Looking at the pinouts for the cat cable it looks like it'll give me what I need as far as having j1939 power for my cat com

    Cat Comm Adapter 3 should read both networks. Been a few years since I've played with one though. Maybe a setting in the program to switch between the 2 network types?
