The sad part is no matter how clean and well maintained and perfect the paperwork is, there's always the chance of a officer who wants to prove something. Last years blitz I got pulled in everthing was perfect except my brand new Manac step deck failed to have enough or the right reflectors on the front and rear corners! I knew I should have spent the extra money! (Joke) Ah ha I found something he said knew I would! Here's your fixit ticket and some CSA points for you! No I am not a company driver and no I didn't argue either!
Only a idiot would argue with a DOT pig. They would just write you another ticket with some made up BS. My trucks are all per egr and will be setting at the yard during their ticket writting spree.
I used to run during the blitz but after seeing some of the BS they have written other people I know up for, the blitz is now my federal annual week. The worst was a buddy of mine who was written up for an oil leak, no oil was making it onto the ground but there was some residue on the oil pan. After that I realized they are not out for safety they are out there to F*** us.
Soo is this mostly done at weight stations? Or are they doing random pull overs on the interstate and etc?
Wherever. They use alot of roadside rest in Oh and Pa. Good luck out there I will be parked until the end of the week.
Has nothing to do with class it is the truth and the way many owner operators feel. My local guys are ok and I'm on a first name bases but man I have had some stupid #### happen the last few months. No safety stuff just BS.
I protest this witch hunt out of principle. People always say if trucks shut down for three days, the country would grind to a halt. Why can't it be these three days?
If your truck is taken care of and CLEAN just do what you do. I understand not being able to set still bills keep rolling. Get your breaks adj and clean your truck. 90% IMO is how good you look if they decide to pick on you or not. Make sure all your lights are working too
