Hey don't 2nd guess yourself man.! You made a sound decision. I like the construction of that Fmax 10 fold over that big tex. Great looking rig!! Is the wagon grey.? Pairs nicely with the color of your truck..

So from here, use that tail for everything it's worth. Constantly look for loads that need ramps. Use the need for ramps as a bargaining chip while negotiating your rate with brokers. Act like its alot of work to get the "ramp kit" set up.. You may even be able to do some loads that are requesting a landoll trailer. Like short wheelbase forktrucks, with only inches of ground clearance. They will high center on a normal ramp/dovetail wagon. But you just have to get it on the tail, raise tail, & drive onto deck. You'll figure it out, but use that tail for all its worth.! It will be even better when you up the GVWR past 26klb. Lots of smaller machines in the 10k-17k lbs range..

Thanks! I really appreciate this board and everyone's comments, it has been very positive, uplifting and supportive.

I plan on going to several equipment dealers in the area and pitch my services there locally, you never know what sort of equipment needs to be transported.

I agree with the higher gross weight rating, I may end up going to over 26,000 lb sooner than expected but I do want to give it a little bit of time

Update, been killing it! :) Average 2000 miles a week, easy few days. Haven't had less than $5000/ week. Happy.

I did upgrade to a dually, and just filed for apportioned plates and IFTA. Tired of buying trip permits, and going up to 40,000 gross opens up a lot more freight. PXL_20201222_025755758.MP.jpg

MO is Aholes though.. I mean yea they can get you because it's illegal but sure seems like MO goes out of their way to nab HS guys. I've heard of them hitting up the RV guys too, that and going after you for tinted windows.

Congrats. How is the dovetail working for freight? can you put much on it? I ended up buying a 40ft Big Tex myself to upgrade because there is a dealer 5 miles from my house and they had them in stock.

I use the hydraulic dovetail almost every day it seems. I absolutely love it. I've had plenty of weight on it, no issues. Seriously, can't think of a single issue with this trailer. Will be ordering an upgrade, won't have an issue selling it! Good deal sir!! Sounds like things are working well for your operation..

Nice looking tarp job too.! I hear can be tricky to get the bottom of the tarp secured on an oversize wider than the trailer..

Yeah, I know.. I run into AR sometimes and end up over that way, I've been trying to avoid MO because my tint is too dark for DOT regs and I don't want to scrape it off. I like having my windows tinted. The funny thing is my LLC is from MO.. I usually run through the scales with my windows down even in winter lol
