Yes I smoke and know the "dangers" .I watched my Grandfather die from lung cancer. I learned to smoke courtsey of my Uncle Sam. It was either stand at attention or at ease during basic training in San Antonio during summer.

now Ive made a couple pf post about smoking so ill make this short. I SMOKE and i have all my life and the main reason I'm still smoking is because so many people are in my business telling me i got to quit'

a few years back the AMA came out with a statement that overcooked hamburger would cause cancer, thats when i quit paying attention to the AMA.

THEN THE GOVERNMENT SAYS THERE BAD i ignored it even more , now we all no the government is always right, you bet. tobacco became bad when the government decide the tobacco industry got to big so they decided to break them and pretty much did and tobacco has been bad ever sense. my entire family has died from cancer I'm the only one left and you know what not a #### one of them smoked all they did was go to church 3 times a week guess you have to say I'm pretty much the black sheep of the family but I'm still standing.

what really makes cigarettes so bad is so many people trying to mind other peoples business but in the world today that seems to be the popular thing to do, how is that working for you?

now there is a simple solution to the problem if I'm smoking when you come around and you don't like the fact that I'm smoking it is simple , hold your breath till I'm done and it wont bother you a bit, or find you another place to Be didn't ask you to come around and if you start whining about my smoking you will go some where else one way or the other i didn't ask you to breadth my air in the first place or share my space.

you wouldn't like my space anyway i don't play well with others.

    BUT have a nice day.----southernpride

I myself smoke, have for 16 years, and definitely agree with the statement quoted above. Although the passing of the smoking ban here in Ohio, has reduced the amount of #### i get from people for smoking has greatly reduced.

Which brings me to ask the question about smoking in the workplace. How does this ban affect truck drivers who wish to smoke while driving their rig? :biggrin_25511:

Disregard the last 2 statements, for google has answered my question. Solo drivers seem to be exempt, while team drivers are exempt as well, if they both smoke.

I've never smoked cigarettes, but I really enjoy the wafting aroma of a quality cigar or pipe tobacco. I'd probably smoke a pipe when home if wifey didn't mind it.

Baack, I agree what you say about second hand smoke. I don't think it's nearly as bad as it's cracked up to be. Even though I smoke (about 4 or 5 cigs a day) I always take it outside. I personally would love to quit. It isn't cool being 26 and having a nasty smokers cough.

On the other hand I have two uncles one is 76 and the other 81 and they smoked their whole lives and are healthy like oxen. Another uncle had lung cancer at 60 something.

It's really a roll of the dice, but given the odds stay away from the cigs if you can!

I've smoked since I was 14...I ENJOY MY SMOKING and coffee and will NOT give it up.

I am polite around those who don't smoke and I don't smoke in my own place because I detest the stale cigarette smell and the stain...

Anymore than that, better bring some help with you...
