By encouraging the mugger to catch a cold thru the bullet hole between his eyes??

If you truly believe this, then go to work for Walmart making minimum wage and part-time. Even at full-time, you'll be bankrupt and living in a shelter within 6 months.
NO ONE deserves such treatment in a civilized society. NO ONE.
But, if you truly believe what you say, then you are not civilized; and this nation certainly is as uncivilized as Somalia, Nigeria, Afghanistan, or Mexico. And that is a sad commentary on what we have become these days.
Oh. Em. Eff. Gee.
This is the same incendiary demagoguery the TPs and the Corpratists want you to believe so they can shove you even further down the income scales!!!:smt021
How can you be so short-sighted??? Has ANYONE ever said that we want to live in $1.5million homes??? I sure don't want to, I don't want to pay the taxes or the utilities!! And the Walmart and fast-food and garbage men and cashiers and waiters and short-order cooks and truck stop employees and home improvement workers don't want to live there, either!!! The majority of them would just like to earn a decent living, have enough to afford a decent car, cable or satellite, Internet and a working compute--and maybe enough for food for the cat.
People with families want to be able to afford shelter, food and clothes for their children, without having to work 100hours a week and never seeing their kids. And a majority of those people do exactly that: work multiple jobs to make just enough to support their kids--and they do it out of love, not greed.
All they want is what we've been taught to believe d4mn near from the grave: The American Dream, where we grow up, get educated, get jobs we love, marry the person we love, have a family, raise that family, and watch our kids have families, grow old and die, while making just enough to do so with some dignity.
They don't want to be a 100-hour a week lawyer; or a robber baron bent on taking ever dime he can from the pockets of street people who cannot support themselves for whatever reason (usually due to mental breakdown or mental illness). They just want a decent wage so they can have a decent place and a decent life.
Stop parroting the corporatist line, and look and listen to the real people, the ones suffering at the bottom unable to pull themselves out of the holes dug for them by the entire system, because the deck is stacked against them.
Instead, ask how it can be made better without overthrowing the system. Then demand that it be done.Last edited: Dec 9, 2013

Not funny dude. Must be something in the water down there.

Accepting what you are given is playing the victim. Expecting and asking for a reasonable share is the opposite. All I asked was why is the pay so low. Pointing out that there are gluttons at the table when I got pushback is not victimhood. I guess pretending the pay is not low is magically delicious.
People who get the job done are not employee quality? That no make sense. Were they frustrated because they were working hard in order to starve? Me pointing out the low pay is frustration? Have you ever heard of projection?Lux Prometheus Thanks this. -
Your 2 cents are worth more than anyone else? I'll have what he's having

I would say everyone believes they could use more money. Since real wages haven't gone up since the '70s and have been decoupled from productivity.
Unions are conspiring for others to get paid so they, themselves, get paid? How is this news since 'what's in it for me' is supposed to be the American Way. Enlightened self-interest wot? A conspiracy is easier to believe than people just wanting to make enough money to live. Some people like to see their family regular like instead of working 2 or 3 jobs. Low wages are corporate welfare since poor workers qualify for assistance. That doesn't mean assistance is too generous. It mean low wages are too low. You can't have family values without having the means to support a family.

Sorry that I did not get back to you sooner on this Blacky. I meant to insult teachers. I lived in Nigeria for 19 years. I work at a Walmart in 1972 and bought stock in the company at that time. I still hold it. Sam Walton's father died at the Boone County Hospital the same day my son was born. He and I spend some time together. He got started working for J C Penny. J C Penny and my grandfather were good friends.
I ran for Congress and was nominated twice. I am very pro union have been a railroader. My wife works for the Welfare Department days and at a women's shelter at night. I am not uninformed on the issues. What I am simply saying is the things you believe in are just not true. People will also act in their own self interest. Union workers complain all the time about Walmart but that is were they shop. You will not find people who "Look for the Union Label" and are willing to pay more for products they can get cheaper across the street. -
Really, now???????? :bigwtf: I guess they should all just shut up and work for their $2.95 an hour and be glad they didn't get kicked in the gut this week. O______oWooly Rhino said: ↑. I meant to insult teachers.Click to expand...

Do you mean that you did not want to insult teachers? And saying that the things I believe in are just not true is only an assertion. I don't have any way to even know what you are referring to. Who said that people will pay more for union made?Wooly Rhino said: ↑Sorry that I did not get back to you sooner on this Blacky. I meant to insult teachers. I lived in Nigeria for 19 years. Umm. Poor pay is relative. I worked 7 months or made 1200 to 4500 a month gross. Now I'm in the oil field. I'm clearing 900 a week. About 60k a year gross. I work 14 hour days for it. Five days a week. More than a temp agency employee making 12 an hour and 40 hours a week. Also a year in if I get lucky and haul oil I can make 80k yr and work less.
