And that is the best answer to any question! (but your reasons made sense as well)

If it's tested and sold by diesel boss, you can trust that it will meet your standards. Spend your points on something else. Jus' my point 02. I have the Garmin, like the simplicity of it, but there is no Gps, no speed recording, just the basic video recording, but good quality video. The accelerometer on any setting but low will automatically trigger saved videos on all of our bumpy roads.

Bergy, I've noticed that my Garmin gets warm unless I set the video screen to sleep. FYI, but this may or may not be the issue with yours, or this may not apply to your cam if the viewing screen isn't always on.

Brilliant. I'll just turn the screen off and have it run in the background - that wouldn't generate any heat. Probably could also record for hours just on phone battery. Thanks.

Most Dash Cams will record over what has been recorded already if the storage space is running low. This should not be an issue as it just keeps recording. Once you have an Event pull that recorded file off then.

I don't know why y'all buy dashcams from a truckstop. Check dashcamreview.com They have loads of info on 'em and reliable info on which ebay and and aliexpress sellers are the ones to buy from.

I got both of my DOD F500LHD and F520LS off ebay about $100 each and both work great. The new one has G force sensor and can record 720 at 60 fps. I use 1920 x 1080 30 fps and it will hold 9 hrs on a 32 GB card before it loops over.

Check the trucker video section, I just posted a few days ago and it has day and night samples.

save your cell phone when you upgrade. install dailyroads app. and use that.

and if your so inclined to use your points. buy an overpriced small memory card from the truckstop.

Those talking about the Gopro as a dash cam, make sure you get at least the Gopro Hero3. It's the only one that has the loop function to use as a dash cam. I see them advertised for $199 all the time. The Hero3+ has this option too but are more expensive. All go pros can be either set up to record at power up or when pressing the shutter button, just get into the settings.

it doesn't. I believe the gopro app for android will allow for that. haven't gotten mine up and running just yet. gotta stop and pick up "The Frame" mount for it tomorrow, then she'll be ready to rock on Tuesday.

    14 hours recording @ 960P
windshield suction cup mount and a 10' mini-usb to usb cable for continuous power since the flimsy batteries only last 3 hours (which is the only flaw in the camera I can find)
