If anyone is thinking about the Garmin Dash Cam 10 that Pilot/Flying J sells, don't waste your money. I'm on my 3rd one in 2 months. Constantly freezes and the crappiest support ever. I just exchanged for a brand new one this weekend and did the update to bring it current. It lasted 15 minutes before it froze up.
Pilot/J has the worst return policy I ever heard of. It was after there 30 day return period before I could get home to grab the box and they will not exchange unit if you don't bring it in original packaging.
Absolute garbage!!!!
Poor quality dash cams

Is anybody having issues with their g-force detection enabled dash cam saving video when hitting really bad spots in the road (such as some bridge approaches or paving construction transitions)? Are you mounted on the dash or the windshield? If windshield, have you found it best to mount low or high?

Mine is mounted TDC, top dead center of the windshield of my Prostar, and it's plugged into a 12v receptacle I wired into the CB radio cavity area. Downside here, cam is on only when engine is running, as is the case with the CB. There is just enough room to feed the power cable out towards the top of the windshield for a nice, clean installation.Last edited: Jul 31, 2014
