Wrong answer. Common courtesy but not a law for either federal or state.

I sat for 20 minutes coming out of O'Hare when I drove limo for awhile because of a political motorcade. Don't remember what politician it was though, as it was a few years ago! Also got delayed more than an hour on the tarmack at Atlanta airport because Air Force One landed.

Your answer is half right so I'll give it to you. A mail truck with a red flashing light on top.

It was passed as the result of the Pearl Harbor attack. People in D.C. started thinking what would happen if that attack were to have been on D.C.........no power, city in a shamble, no phones because the phone company buildings were gone/bombed. How would the President communicate assuming the Secretary of War (at that time it was war, not defense) were in Southern Virginia? He'd have to write a letter. And how would that letter be delivered? In a mail truck with a red flashing light on top.

I don't know about these things. I've been married to the same one since 1966. But it's a cute answer

Well here's my something new to learn today.

It makes sense as you described given the events and technology of that time. Nowadays there's most likely back up generators for the back up generators for the back up generators that would keep the government offices of highest importance (i.e. White House, Pentagon, Capitol Building, etc.) in touch with one another. Not to mention the aerial command center that is Air Force One.

    psanderson Thanks this.

It's on the same subject PSAnderson, just like most threads sometimes they stray off coarse a little. Put your gun away, unzip the bullet proof vest and relax a little bit.
