405 shut down & it takes 5 hours to get from Long Beach to Castaic. Parked for the night on an urban street when you get sick. #### happens......literally. You only have to need that bucket once to make yourself eternally grateful for having it.

I'm currently making plans to get into trucking but I hadn't even thought of this!!!!
Working in an office you take the facilities for granted and I'm definitely sensitive to this, I always pick the cleanest stall etc, will walk to different floor (several times even used the ladies room) if needed to get a clean one.
I'd hate to have to do my business in a nasty place or use a bucket. Where do you put the bucket when using it - I don't understand it?TruckDuo, CargoWahgo and Lux Prometheus Thank this. -
The way my "pattern" works, it's a 23 hour cycle; oh, and let's not forget I go at least twice a day, sometimes more.

And then there's the emergency... of course, feeding yourself (see cooking thread) helps alleviate that, but it does happen that Montezuma will strike at the most inopportune time.
Thanks for all the answers, folks! -
You don't do much camping and hunting, do you?

You just sit on the bucket in the sleeper. Or just sit outside if your in the middle of nowhere. And if your in my neck of the woods, if somebody passes by when your sitting, they just wave as they go by.
DoneYourWay, koncrete cowboy, Cetane+ and 3 others Thank this. -
Neither scenario appeals to me, one involves defecating where I plan to eat and sleep (universally repulsive to all species) and the other could subject me to indecent exposure charges ...what if a lady cop is driving by?
Trakehner Thanks this. -
Nice thread! I have often thought about using one of these! I appreciate the OP's courage to post this! Thanks.
Lux Prometheus Thanks this. -
Cause some of us are old & our stuff don't work like you 20 somethings stuff does. When you start getting older... when you gotta go, you gotta go. And, if some of us didn't have provisions, we wouldn't ever get down the road. We'd be stopping every 75 miles. And by the time you get off the interstate, go to the TS, get in the lot, park & start your fast walk to the restroom.... you might make it & you might not. Get to the restroom, do your business, walk back to the truck, get back out on the interstate... you done went through 15 minutes. Do that about every hour or so or even every two hours... & you waste a lot of time & mileage every day.
And, when ya gotta get up once or twice a night & get fully dressed to go inside to use the restroom when its 20 degrees outside, then back out, then get undressed & get back in bed....
Laugh & poke fun but, you'll start getting old & your stuff wont work like it does now..... one day you'll see.
just sayin...
Cetane+, Lux Prometheus, peterd and 7 others Thank this. -
I hope you realize that as an OTR driver, all of your hygiene needs take place in a public restroom.Raiderfanatic Thanks this.

I like to leave my "black" bags on the cat walk of the truck parked next to me..I am much to fat & lazy to walk to trash can.
BigRigEvan and Cetane+ Thank this. -
Oh boy............ I guess I'm talking more for the area I truck in, camp, hunt, etc. (WY, ID, NV, UT, MT). I know some of us get out in the more remote area's than others and I'm not going to sit on the bucket outside on the corner of Main and Fifth St in downtown Billings.DoneYourWay, Raiderfanatic and Joetro Thank this.
