People who migrate want to do

leave their horrible place and go to a nice place and do their damndest to turn the nice place into the crappy place they just left .

ask anyone who lives in Idaho or Colorado what they think of all the folks moving in from California ….

 

If he works for a company and is driving a truck owned by someone else , I’d tell the owner they better get it fixed pretty fast if they want me to drive their truck .

If he owns the truck he needs to get a second opinion

the parts are available somewhere .
Might be used from a junkyard or on eBay or whatever but that are available somewhere . You just have to be motivated enough to find em .

 

After thinking about it many years and being a history nerd, I think the issue is the large number of people settling into one area. Imagine one person from a very different culture, call it Differentia moving to Iceland. That one person cannot go to the Differentia market, Differentia restaurants, tune into the Differentia radio and TV programs, and elect Differentia candidates to government. Our one immigrant has no choice but to adapt to the local environment.

Now imagine a village from Differentia picking up and moving to Iceland. They have enough people to open a small market, perhaps to open a school, collectively get internet access and stay connected to the sports, politics, music, etc of Differentia. Some number of Icelanders may even participate in the Differentia experience. If you have enough "foreigners" in an area where it becomes possible to remain somewhat isolated from the larger culture it creates enclaves and the possibility of people living foreign life in your land. Holding onto their Differentia culture feels more comfortable. They aren't connecting their culture that created the country they fled with failure. Imagine you took any country or culture and you separate, as best as possible, those that wanted a better life and those that wanted things to stay the same. If you transport a lot of those wanting improvement out of Differentia, would Differentia increase in wealth, health, etc or would it stay the same or decline? If from the comfort of another prosperous country you learn of the hardships in Differentia and you want to help, would allowing large numbers of people from Differentia to leave their country set Differentia on a glidepath to peace and prosperity or condemn them to a lower quality of live as the most eager to leave left?
